Reximmune-C®

Retroviral Expression Vectors Bearing an Immune-stimulating Cytokine

Developed to Provide an Opportunity for Personalized Cancer Vaccination in Patients at Risk of Recurrence

The second tumor-targeted anticancer agent developed by Epeius Biotech is Reximmune-C, which combines Epeius’ proprietary targeted delivery system with a powerful immune-stimulating gene that recruits and activates a patient’s own immune cells at the site(s) of residual metastatic disease—which is the source of cancer recurrence. By directing the activated immune cells into the same compartment as the tumor neo-antigens, the cytokine serves to promote the maturation of an immune response that is intended to participate in the elaboration of an active and specific anti-cancer immunity—in essence, a Personalized Cancer Vaccination. When administered by simple intravenous infusion, Reximmune-C has been shown to enhance the accumulation of leukocytes, including Dendritic cells, B-cells, and Killer T-cells, the presence of which are indicative of a more favorable prognosis. Importantly, Reximmune-C acts locally, activating the immune system in the immediate vicinity of the residual tumor(s), without raising blood levels of the powerful cytokine.

Designed to Work in Concert with Rexin-G®

Reximmune-C has been approved by the Philippine BFAD for clinical trials and is available to a limited number of patients who have achieved stable disease but are still at risk of cancer progression.

Reximmune-C was designed to be used in combination with Rexin-G (which provides the tumor debris/antigens); and particularly for the increasing number of metastatic cancer patients who have experienced tumor-reducing benefits from Rexin-G but still remain at risk. Reximmune-C provides an enhanced “opportunity” for anti-cancer vaccination, by stimulating the patient’s cells that could produce a longer lasting anti-tumor immunity.
