Rexin-G®

Retroviral Expression Vectors Bearing an Inhibitory Gene

Granted Orphan Drug Status by the U.S. FDA.

The leading product of Epeius Biotechnologies is Rexin-G, which combines Epeius’ proprietary targeted delivery system with a genetically engineered mutant cell-cycle control gene that is lethal to cancer cells (i.e. a designer anti-cancer gene). When administered by intravenous infusions, Rexin-G has been shown to eradicate remote primary and metastatic cancers in preclinical studies (animal models) and to arrest cancer growth, with significant shrinkage and necrosis of solid tumors in humans—as determined by CT Scans, PET Scans, and MRI. By selectively targeting cancer cells and their attendant blood supply, while sparing normal cells and tissues, Rexin-G exhibits profound single-agent efficacy against a broad spectrum of solid tumors, without eliciting systemic side effects.

Granted Accelerated Approval to treat all chemo-resistant solid tumors by the Philippine BFAD.

Rexin-G has been approved by the Philippine BFAD as a safe and effective treatment for all solid tumors that are refractory to standard chemotherapy; thus, it is currently available at several designated medical centers in Manila.

In the United States, Rexin-G has completed its initial Phase I testing and is currently being tested in a number of advanced Phase I/II and confirmatory Phase II clinical trials.

Rexin-G has been granted Orphan Drug Status by the U.S. FDA for three cancer indications: pancreas cancer, osteosarcoma, and soft tissue sarcoma.
